Adoption event set for this week at Minnesota State Fairgrounds

An upcoming free event is celebrating Minnesota families who adopted children from foster care and those who are considering adoption.

On Nov. 4, at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, The 26th annual “Celebrate Adoption: Circus of the Heart” event will highlight adoption resources in the state.

Assistant Commissioner of Children and Family Services Tikki Brown shared more about the event, saying lowering barriers for families is important.

“It’s one of the great things about Circus of the Heart is that ability to share information and the resources to people or families who are thinking about adopting children and the fact that we want people of all different races of all different ages and it doesn’t matter if you’re married, have a house, or have an apartment, we’re really looking for a wide variety of folks,” Brown said.

In 2022, 1,000 Minnesotan children were adopted from foster care with, 522 still waiting for permanent families.
