(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — After selecting six alternates yesterday, the full jury has been empaneled in the trial of the Highland Park Parade shooting suspect that starts on Monday.

Six men and six women will hear the trial that's expected to last three to five weeks. They include a chef, retired toolmaker, and summer camp counselor.

Judge Victoria Rossetti led questioning as Lake County prosecutors and public defenders agreed on the jury plus six alternates.

The final juror selected is a 51-year-old medical technician who said she initially assumed Robert Crimo III was guilty, but said she could put that aside and listen to only the evidence at trial.

Crimo did not attend court at all yesterday after skipping the afternoon sessions the prior two days. The judge has reminded him the trial will go on whether or not he attends.

The long trial does make it a hardship for jurors who will miss work or need to set up childcare for the weeks-long trial.
