It can also be a haven for poisonous plants that you might not even realize are dangerous to your family and pets.
To help keep you safe, The Spruce has identified 15 common toxic plants that can be dangerous if touched or consumed.
It's important to remember: If you find any of these plants in your yard, don't just remove them with your bare hands; wear gloves and other protective clothing, like long sleeves. Don't dispose of these plants in yard waste bags or your burn pile, either. Experts say the best way to dispose of dangerous plants is to place them in a plastic bag and set the bag out with the trash.
