The tiny town of Loretto, Tenn., has 1,730 residents, 3.8 square miles, a handful of historic buildings, and police who like to make fun of people taking sexy pics at a car wash.

The Loretto Police Facebook page posted a picture of a couple taking boudoir-type snaps at a car wash, and it quickly garnered nearly 8,000 reactions and racked up more than 2,000 comments. "Redneck photo shoot, mind ya business," Rhonda Michelle Hatter wrote.

The picture shows a couple loved up on the ground at the car wash with a photographer standing in front of them. Commenters said the pic was actually taken in Texas, although the department that posted it is in Tennessee. "What in the Alabama is going on here?' the police department asked on its Facebook page, blurring out the faces of the couple. SEE IT HERE.

"She can wait," added Chief Bobby Joe Killen, who runs the page. "Save those quarters!'

Savannah Findley, the woman in the photos, responded on Facebook, writing, 'This was last year and we can't live it down!' She told Audacy, 'that's me and my husband, lol."

"I wonder if anybody has any police department engagement photos," Richard Skinner wrote with a laughing emoji.

Clearly, it wasn't your run-of-the mill engagement photo spread: The ones where he's in a wheelbarrow, and she's pushing it, laughing harder than any human being has in the history of human beings.

Or the usual alternatives: Traipsing through a field of wildflowers, two hands making the shape of a single heart, piggyback rides, but for adults who should know better, matching overalls, matching sweaters, pets in bow ties.

In the car wash version, Findley is in a white strapless top and draped on her man's lap while a red Toyota truck gets sudsy behind them. Both are barefoot.

And while the police department pointed it out for a laugh, a search of the term 'car wash photo shoot' proves that it's become a popular alternative to routine pics of tossing fall leaves in the air in a fit of euphoria, tying your beloved to rustic train tracks (you haven't seen that one yet?), or gazing adoringly at each other on a park bench, freshly minted rings shining.

There are entire categories for car wash engagement photo shoots on Pinterest and TikTok.

Photographer Taylor English touted her photo spread of a newly engaged couple washing a Chevy SS. "This is where it happens," she wrote. "Washing your car on a Sunday summer afternoon, watching her pull her up off her hair neck, lazily laying around watching the sun disappear. These are the moments I adore the most - as a photographer, as a lover, as a human. I know what it’s like to run around barefoot and spray each other with the water hose."

In the Loretto case, police pointed out they could've skipped the car wash and gone with the more photogenic 'low water bridge.'

"I think it's kinda cool to see people step outside the box. There's only so many ways you can do fields and lakes and a antique chair in a field. I hope they post 'em when they get 'em back," Brian Bigg-fred Gallett responded.
