Baton Rouge was the place to be on Sunday as Jeff Landry was sworn in as the 57th Governor of Louisiana.

Landry, who officially becomes governor of Louisiana at noon Monday, was inaugurated a day early becasue of concerns about bad weather.

As Landry took the oath of office on the steps of the state Capitol, the audience was packed with political leaders, local dignitaries -- and Donald Trump Jr.

According to WBRZ, the former president's son was in the crowd, along with Senator Bill Cassidy, Congressman Garret Graves, Congressman Troy Carter and House Speaker Mike Johnson.

During Landry's speech, he sounded a tone of togetherness as he said it was his job to repair and reform government through innovation and production. While he didn't offer many specifics on how he plans to reform Louisiana, he did make clear that his goals include fighting crime. He also talked about the oil and gas industry and the federal government efforts to transition away from fossil fuels.

Once Landry assumes office, Republicans will occupy all statewide elected positions in Louisiana, per the Associated Press. The GOP also has a two-third supermajority in both the state House and Senate.

Trump Jr. has been Landry's longtime supporter. He was quick to endorse the then-attorney general after attending Landry's annual alligator hunt in 2022 where he unofficially launched his campaign, according to reports.
