One of the world’s most famous chefs, Emeril Lagasse got his start in New Orleans, and despite being a New Jersey native, he’s always held a soft spot in his heart for The Big Easy, which is why he owns four restaurants in the city.

But why stop at four?

Lagasse and The Emeril Group have announced that a fifth restaurant will open its doors this spring.

34 Restaurant and Bar will grace the Central Business District on Baronne Street and will serve Portuguese-inspired dishes.

Lagasse said the name of the new establishment is a reference to his full name – Emeril Lagasse III – and the fact that the venture is a partnership with his son, Emeril Lagasse IV.

“Located in downtown New Orleans, the experience will be inviting and transportive, anchored by tapas-style shared plates, and featuring a jamon bar and internationally influenced wine and cocktail program,” the official release reads.

While no specific date has been announced, the restaurant is set to open in “Spring 2024,” according to the release.
