Ex-NFL player, wife arrested after police find their missing 14-year-old son

Bryson Muir, who was reported missing over two weeks ago and whose father was an NFL player for the Indianapolis Colts, was located by police Wednesday morning after a raid in Logansport, Ind.

Police appeared ready for anything when they raided a compound owned by a religious group. There were heavily armed SWAT officers, K9’s and a bomb squad, among others involved.

Indiana State Police (ISP) Sgt. Steven Glass spoke to CBS 4 Indianapolis.

“With anything of this nature, we have to be well prepared, to go into the unknown,” Glass said.  “Ultimately, everything went well and everybody is safe, including Bryson.”

Police were met with no resistance. They found the 14-year-old boy and arrested his parents.

Bryson’s father Daniel Muir was charged with obstruction of justice and domestic battery. His mother Kristen Muir was charged with obstruction of justice.

The boy’s grandmother, Cheryl Wright, reported that he was being abused back in June. She shared a picture showing him with a black eye and a bloody lip. Police said the teenager’s parents were initially cooperative but skipped a meeting and a court date, which led to the raid on the compound.

Wright said she thinks her grandson was brainwashed by the religious organization and his parents.
