
A shooting in northwest New Mexico resulted in four people, including a suspect, being killed, along with two police officers who responded to the shooting being injured on Monday afternoon, authorities shared.
The Farmington Police Department reported that three “civilian victims” were killed as a result of the shooting, along with one person believed to be a suspect who was “confronted and killed on scene.”
While responding to the shooting, one Farmington police officer and a member of the New Mexico State Police were wounded in the gunfire. Police shared that both of the officers were stable and being treated at a local hospital.
The identities of the suspect and the victims have not been shared by the department.
The department provided an update saying, “At this time, we don’t believe there is a second suspect.”
Investigators shared that they are still working to uncover a motive in the shooting. No arrests have been made.
