Fox News panel backs idea of Trump being on Mount Rushmore

A group of panelists on Fox News’ show “Outnumbered” shared that they would support adding President Donald Trump to the faces of presidents on Mount Rushmore.

Fox contributor and former GOP Rep. Jason Chaffetz (UT) was among the panel members who supported the idea of Trump being carved in stone.

“Hey, if there’s room up there, I think it’d be great,” Chaffetz said. “I think what Donald Trump has done, and is in the process of doing, is transforming the United States of America and putting America first. And I think America loves it, and I think there’s a great case for it.”

Former Trump press secretary Kayleigh McEnany also agreed while also taking a shot at former President Joe Biden.

“Yeah, I’m fascinated by this because that would be some sweet irony after President Joe Biden stopped the fireworks display from Mount Rushmore,” she said. “So, if you did, like, the 250th anniversary of the country at Mount Rushmore with President Trump’s face, it would be epic.”

Other ideas floated by the Fox panel included potentially adding Trump’s face to US currency or naming other famous installations around the country after him, according to Mediate, which first reported on the segment.

Fox contributor Lisa Boothe also weighed in, saying she would support renaming the Dulles Airport in Virginia after Trump, much like another airport renamed to honor a former president.

“It also makes a lot of sense because you have Reagan here in D.C. with DCA, and there’s a lot of parallels between the two presidents of inheriting terrible economies, instability around the world, and then building off of that, fixing those problems and then going on to tons of success,” Boothe said.

Trump first joked about being added to the faces on Mount Rushmore in 2019, saying he has “a lot of respect” for the monument.
