A high school coach in Texas is recovering after he was chased down and viciously attacked by a group of young students after school.

The incident, which happened last Thursday at Langham Creek High School in Houston, was caught on cell phone video and shared to social media.

The video shows a group of kids chasing after the coach, who desperately tries to get away. Eventually, one of kids punches the coach and they fall to the ground.

The coach was identified as Michael Shott, an assistant baseball coach and physics teacher at Langham Creek High. According to reports, he was attacked after telling the students -- who are from nearby Aragon Middle School -- to leave the high school campus. The kids were allegedly trying to drive dirt-bikes and four-wheelers on school property.

"The reason it happened to him was because he was doing his job. He stopped the kids. Well, there was only one kid at first. The reason the others came back is because they didn't like him stopping them," Shott's mother, Peggy, told KTRK.

Shott suffered a broken arm in the attack, his mother added. He received treatment and is now at home recovering.

Following a police investigation, four juvenile suspects were identified and taken into custody.

The arrests allegedly prompted a school shooting threat on social media. Extra security was put on campus as a precaution.

The superintendent of Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District addressed the attack and alleged threat in a statement.

"The recent safety violations that have occurred both on and off our campuses are extremely disappointing. I want to reassure you that we are taking these actions very seriously," Mark Henry said. "Our campuses must be the safest places in our community for students, staff and visitors. We will not tolerate anyone compromising the safe environment of our campuses, and will address violations to the greatest extent possible."

Principal Jose Martinez also sent a letter to parents, calling the incident "extremely unacceptable."

In addition to any possible criminal charges, Martinez said students involved will be disciplined according to the district's student code of conduct.
