While “Home Alone” star Macaulay Culkin prepared for a screening of the holiday classic near Pittsburgh, Pa., this week, his film family was gathering for a reunion in New Jersey.
“Guys, I’m eating junk and watching rubbish! You better come out and stop me!!!” said an Instagram post from Pandora’s Box Toys & Collectibles in Lafayette, N.J. It revealed that Devin Ratray, Kristen Minter, Michael Maronna, Angela Goethals and Jed Cohen were at the store to celebrate with “Home Alone” fans 34 years after the film came out.
According to the post, this is the first time that the five actors – who played members of the McCallister family in the film – had all been together in 30 years. Ratray, 47, played Buzz McCallister; Minter, 59, played cousin Heather; Maronna, 47, played Jeff; Goethals, 47, played Linnie and Cohen, 48, played cousin Rod, said People magazine.
“Home Alone” was written by John Hughes and directed by Chris Columbus. It centers on the exploits of Culkin’s Kevin McCallister, an 8-year-old left home by the rest of the family as they head on a holiday trip to France. He has to fend for himself as two burglars try to break into the family home. Earlier this year, the iconic house where that movie was filmed, located in the Chicago suburbs, went back on the market.
In the beloved sequel “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York” Kevin again gets separated from his family on a holiday trip when he accidentally boards a flight to New York City instead of Florida with the rest of the McCallisters. Commenters on the Pandora’s Box Instagram noted that Culkin was yet again absent from a McCallister get together.
“It’s getting out of hand how many times you guys ditch Kevin, wth,” said one comment.
However, it looks like now 44-year-old isn’t dealing with an attempted robbery this time. Per 1st Summit Arena, Culkin is set to appear at the “A Nostalgic Night with Macaulay Culkin” event at the Pasquerilla Performing Arts Center in Johnstown Wednesday from 8 to 11 p.m. Of course, it will include a screening of “Home Alone.”
