In a recent video shared on social media, former First Lady Melania Trump questioned law enforcement’s role in the assassination attempt on her husband, former President Donald Trump.
The 34-second video was shared to Melania Trump’s social media accounts on Tuesday, and in it, she questioned why law enforcement didn’t arrest the shooter before he opened fire on July 13.
The former first lady appeared to hint at a conspiracy in the video, saying there is “more to the story” and that “we need to uncover the truth.”
“Now the silence around it feels heavy. I can’t help but wonder why didn’t law enforcement officials arrest the shooter before the speech. There is definitely more to this story. And we need to uncover the truth,” she added.
In the video, she is dressed in black, speaking in front of a black screen as music plays in the background. The video ends with a picture of her forthcoming memoir “Melania,” which is slated to be released in October.
It is unclear what the assassination attempt has to do with her upcoming book. She announced it about two weeks after Trump was shot. It is not clear if she will talk about it in the book.
Since the attempt on Trump’s life in Butler, Pennsylvania, House Republicans have formed a task force to probe the assassination attempt. The Secret Service is also conducting its own investigation.
The post also comes on the day of her husband’s debate with Democratic nominee and Vice President Kamala Harris.
It is unclear if Melania Trump will be at the debate being hosted by ABC News in Philadelphia tonight.
