Melania Trump's chief of staff resigns amid siege on US Capitol

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- First lady Melania Trump's chief of staff, Stephanie Grisham, resigned Wednesday amid the siege on the U.S. Capitol by supporters of President Trump.

Grisham, the former White House communications director and press secretary, submitted her resignation Wednesday, a White House official told CNN.

Her resignation is effective immediately.

Grisham began working with Donald Trump in 2015 when he was a presidential candidate. After Trump's win, she was deputy press secratry under Sean Spicer.

Then in 2017, she began working for the first lady.

The first lady's office nor Grisham has yet to comment.
