A curious New Hampshire dog was put in quite the pickle last week after getting its head stuck in a tree, requiring the assistance of firefighters to be liberated.
On Monday, the Milford Fire Department posted about the situation online, sharing that the dog was found trapped behind a Boys and Girls Club on Friday, April 28.
“We’ve had animals in ponds and stuff, but this is the first time we’ve had to pull a dog out of a tree,” Milford Fire Assistant Chief Mark Britton told WMUR-TV. “Not a common thing at all.”
The department shared photos of the dog’s encounter with the tree, as its head was stuck in a shallow hole at the base of a large trunk.
Thankfully for the response of the firefighters, the dog was freed after they used hand tools to cut the wood around the dog’s head, WMUR reported.
“After a short time, the dog was removed without injury,” the department shared online.
