A new clinic in Minneapolis is breaking down barriers for those seeking help with opioid addictions, working to remove the stigma surrounding those who seek help.
Community Medical Services Outreach leader Julio Luque says they pride themselves on being a leading addiction clinic providing clients with treatment medication in-house.
“Our goal is to get a client to come, check in, and out the door in five minutes,” Luque said.
Beyond that, the clinic is prepared to help patients with things like health care sign-up help & food resources.
“It’s great to see two months down the line, a patient coming in and saying, ‘Hey, I got my kid back, and it was because I’ve abstained from drugs because of your program,’ or ‘Hey, I was able to apply for food stamps, now I’m not going hungry.’ That’s what we want to see,” Luque said.
CMS offers counseling, housing resources, and more to those battling addiction. For more information, visit their website.
