People who like spicy food seem to wear it as a badge of honor, often bragging about the level of spice they can handle.

Of course, it’s not all about the heat, as even the spiciest hot sauces must have good flavor to help get passed the burn. Now, a new survey has revealed each state’s preferred choice of hot sauce, and while a number of brands were selected, a clear favorite throughout the country has emerged.

With National Hot Sauce Day coming up later this month, online grocery platform Instacart decided to celebrate by using data from their service to find each state’s favorite hot sauce brand.

While brands such as Frank’s RedHot and Original Louisiana made appearances on the now viral map, the clear top choice around the country was Huy Fong Sriracha. 31 states total, including Texas, made the popular Sriracha brand their top choice.

According to Huffington Post, data collected between December 2020 and November 2021 was used to create the map. One of the bigger surprises was both North Carolina and South Carolina selecting the brand Texas Pete as their favorite. Maybe one day the Texas brand will become a favorite in the Lone Star state.
