An Ohio man is recovering after he was shot in the face - for refusing to share his potato chips.

Police say the 31-year-old victim was standing outside Lusty's Adventure, a  strip club in Akron, snacking on a bag of chips when he was confronted by the suspect, later identified as 42-year-old Melvin Wright.

Wright had apparently worked up an appetite and asked the victim for a bite. But when the victim refused to share his chips, Wright allegedly pulled out a gun and shot him in the face.

The victim drove himself to the hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

On Wednesday, police tracked down Wright and he was taken into custody on charges of felonious assault and weapons under disability, WOIO reported. At the time of his arrest, police found a gun on Wright that may have been used in the shooting, according to the report.

The incident remains under investigation.
