PepsiCo has announced a recall for more than 300,000 Starbucks Vanilla Frappuccino bottles because they might have glass inside them, the FDA shared in a recall notice.
The recall is classified as Class II, which means there is a “situation in which use of or exposure to a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote,” according to the FDA.
Affected drinks are the 13.7-ounce Vanilla Frappuccinos bottles with a UPC number of 0 12000-81331 3 and expirations dates of March 8, May 29, June 4 and 10, the FDA shared.
The recall for the products first began on Jan. 28, according to the FDA, and it remains ongoing.
PepsiCo shared in a statement, on behalf of its organization with Starbucks, the North American Coffee Partnership, that the products are being removed from the marketplace.
“The North American Coffee Partnership is committed to a high level of quality in the products we serve. Delivering a quality experience to our consumers is our top priority and we always act with an abundance of caution whenever a potential concern is raised,” the statement said.
The recall notice shared that the products were sold nationwide, but it did not specify where specifically or where the glass was found.
The statement from PepsiCo did specify that the products were not sold at Starbucks retail locations.
So far, the FDA says there haven’t been any injuries as a result of the drinks.
Those who have purchased a recalled product or are concerned can call 1-800-211-8307 to speak with a representative if they have questions, PepsiCo shared.
