In an unusual sight, federal agents stormed the cockpit of Delta flight just moments after the plane landed in San Francisco and slammed handcuffs on the pilot.
Why? Officers confirmed they arrested him on child porn charges in a case that involved investigators from multiple agencies, including the Department of Homeland Security and the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred on board Delta Flight 2809 around 9:35 p.m. local time on Saturday. The flight had departed from Minneapolis earlier in the day, with the landing delayed due to heavy fog in the Bay Area.
View from the Wing posted video of the arrest and captured the co-pilot's shocked reaction HERE. First class passenger Sarah Christianson told the San Francisco Chronicle the officers "arrested him, walked him down the aisle, and ushered him off the plane through the cabin doors located between first and coach.”
Christianson said she was left in tears because the incident was “shocking and unnerving."
The New York Times reported that Delta declined to comment on the arrest and "directed questions to law enforcement agencies."
