Prosecutors in the federal civil rights trial of three former Minneapolis police officers say they'll wrap up their case on Monday in St. Paul.
The trial has now lasted three weeks.
Thomas Lane, J. Alexander Kueng, and Tou Thou are accused of violating the civil rights of George Floyd when he was killed by fellow former officer Derek Chauvin.
Floyd died May 25, 2020, touching off protests worldwide, some of them violent.
Rioting in the Twin Cities lasted for several days after Floyd died until National Guard troops came in to help quell the disturbance,
Chauvin is in prison on a murder conviction, and he pleaded guilty to violating Floyd's civil rights, avoiding a federal trial.
Police procedure has been the focus of the prosecution's case.
On Friday, an FBI special agent testified that none of the officers did not tell their supervisors that Floyd had gone unconscious while Chauvin had his knee on his neck.
The defense begins its case next week, and right now only Lane is expected to take the stand.
