Students in Louisiana State University’s 459 dining hall received a surprising uninvited guest during Wednesday night’s dinner rush when a raccoon came crashing through the ceiling.
Chaos quickly ensued, according to a WBRZ report on the incident.
“Everyone is standing up and looking around for it. I went and still got my food because I thought that it was fake,” LSU freshman Danielle Gipson told LSU Reville, the university’s student-run newspaper. “The raccoon then ran underneath my table and I immediately got on top of the chair.”
Social media was quickly populated with several videos shot by students as staff scrambled to corner the critter, but those attempts using a broom and a trash can proved fruitless.
Eventually, Animal Control arrived to stabilize the crime scene and safely remove the infiltrator who interrupted the students’ nightly meal.
