DETROIT (WWJ) -- More than 72,000 newer Stellantis vehicles are being recalled due to a software glitch.
An estimated 72,509 Ram trucks could be affected by the glitch, which causes the instrument panel to go blank, according to a release this week by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
When this happens, drivers can't see their speed, car temperature and other important information.
The recall covers certain 2025-2026 Ram 1500 Pickup, Ram 2500 Pickup, Ram 3500 Pickup, Ram 3500 Cab Chassis, 4500 Ram Cab Chassis, and Ram 5500 Cab Chassis vehicles.
Dealers will inspect and update the instrument panel software or replace the instrument panel cluster, as necessary, free of charge.
Vehicle owner notification letters are expected to be mailed January 8, 2026.
