SEE: The toppled energy tower that put New Orleans in the dark

One of the worst casualties of Hurricane Ida’s wrath was a giant transmission tower that’s crucial to Entergy’s ability to provide power to the New Orleans area. The tower was toppled completely and the lines to it that carry electricity for all of Orleans Parish and most of neighboring Jefferson Parish fell into the Mississippi River.
