Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert was a guest speaker over the weekend at a Christian event and said that she prays President Joe Biden's "days be few."
While speaking at the Charis Christian Center Family Camp Meeting in her home state on Saturday, Boebert recited parts of a Bible verse and used it to wish for the President to die soon, according to Newsweek.
"I do want you to know that I pray for our President. Psalm 109:8 says, 'May his days be few and another take his office.' Hallelujah! Glory to God," Boebert said.
Her statement earned a loud applause and some laughter from the crowd, as Boebert herself even laughed along with the audience.
The video clip of her speaking made its rounds online since the event, gaining over 1.3 million views on Twitter.
As expected, many people online were angered by Boebert's comments directed at Biden, including former CNN correspondent and "SportsCenter" anchor Keith Olbermann who called her out for wishing "his days be few."
"I've got something worse I pray for, @laurenboebert," Olbermann tweeted on June 11. "I pray that you spend the rest of your life with the shame and humiliation of being Lauren F***ing Boebert."
It's not the first time that a politician has used the Bible verse to mock a person in a position of power, as Business Insider noted that Georgia Sen. David Perdue said it about then-President Barack Obama in 2016 at a religious conference.
