Suspect shot by officers inside police station

A 38-year-old man is in critical but stable condition following an officer-involved shooting at a police station just outside Pittsburgh on Sunday.

The man had been arrested by Munhall Police earlier in the day on domestic violence charges.

After his arrest, he was transported to the police station and placed in a holding cell for processing.

At 12:30 a.m., police say they observed the man attempting to cover the camera in the cell.

Two officers entered the cell and ordered him to stop, but according to police, the man refused to comply and began fighting with officers.

Both officers deployed Tasers, but the man continued fighting. One officer then fired multiple shots, striking the man in the torso.

The man was taken to an area hospital in critical but stable condition.

The officers involved were not injured during the incident.
