After issuing a recall of nearly 5 million Threshold brand candles this May, Target has issued a recall for another 2.2 million of the candles in multiple scents.

A Thursday recall notice from the Minneapolis, Minn., based retailer said the candle’s jar can crack during use, potentially resulting in lacerations and burns. Target has received 19 reports of the candles breaking, causing one minor injury.

According the Consumer Product Safety Commission, certain Threshold Glass Jar 5.5 ounce 1-Wick and 20 ounce 3-Wick Candles manufactured in Vietnam are included in the recall. These candles were sold for prices ranging from $3 to $12 at Target stores nationwide and online from Feb. 2020 through this July.

Target’s notice includes a list of the scents and item numbers, which are printed on product stickers on the bottom of the glass jars.

People who purchased or received the candles should immediately stop using them. They can return the candles for a full refund at any Target store or contact Target to receive a prepaid return label for return by mail.

In May, the Consumer Product Safety Commission also issued a recall notice of 4.9 million candles from the same brand for the same reason. Prior to that recall, Target received 137 reports of the candle jar breaking or cracking during use, leading to six reported injuries, including lacerations and severe burns.

Those candles were sold at Target stores nationwide and online from August 2019 through March 2023. Anyone who has candles included in that recall can also return them for a full refund.
