The USDA’s Food Safety Inspection Service has announced a recall for more than 61,000 pounds of Trader Joe’s dumplings after it was found they could be contaminated with plastic.

According to the recall, some of the dumplings made by CJ Foods Manufacturing could have “hard plastic from a permanent marker pen” inside them.

The recall was made after “complaints from consumers reporting they found hard plastic in Trader Joe’s Steamed Chicken Soup Dumplings.”

There have not been any injuries caused by the recalled items, according to the FSIS.

The lot numbers for the recalled boxes include 03.07.25.C1-1 and 03.07.25.C1-2 and “P-46009” inside the USDA inspection stamp. They were manufactured on Dec. 7, 2023.

The recalled soup dumplings were sold at Trader Joe’s stores across the country.

Consumers are advised not to make the food but instead throw it away or return it to the store for a full refund. Those with questions can call CJ Foods at 800-544-6855.
