On Sunday night in Washington state, police responded to the possibility of a potato truck driver operating his vehicle under the influence. During the encounter, the vehicle caught fire, stopping the driver and baking the potatoes.
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office was notified about the incident at 6:40 p.m. when the Pasco Police called asking for assistance with the situation, according to a press release.
The police had asked to use the sheriff's office's spike strips to disable the vehicle. The spikes were used, and the vehicle lost its front right tire but continued to drive in a loop on Highway 395 north.

Shortly after going over the spikes and losing its tire, the truck caught fire near the Karcher street overpass as the driver stopped the vehicle and ran from the scene.
Officers caught up with the driver, and they were taken into custody. The drivers name has not been released by the sheriff's office at this time.
