“We are heading to World War III because of grossly incompetent leadership, headed by a President that doesn’t have a clue,” said former President Donald Trump Saturday in a Truth Social post.
Trump, who is currently the frontrunner to be the GOP candidate in the 2024 presidential election, has already blamed President Joe Biden and the current administration for Hamas’ terrorist attack on Israel earlier this month. In the past, he’s also claimed to have averted nuclear war with North Korea.
As far as Israel is concerned, CBS News polling results released Friday show that 56% of the country also disapproves of the way Biden has handled the war sparked by Hamas’ attack. While 66% of Democrats approve of the way the president has handled the outbreak of violence, 72% of Republicans disapprove.
When asked what Biden should do different, 54% said he should criticize Hamas more.
“Hamas – its stated purpose for existing is the destruction of the State of Israel and the murder of Jewish people,” Biden said in a Friday Oval Office address. “Hamas does not represent the Palestinian people. Hamas uses Palestinian civilians as human shields, and innocent Palestinian families are suffering greatly because of them.”
As CNN noted, both Biden and the majority of Americans believe supporting Israel is a priority.
In September, Audacy reported on another warning regarding “World War III” that came from Oleksiy Danilov, secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. He was referring to a brutal Russian invasion of Ukraine that continues as a new war rages in the Middle East.
Since the invasion began last year, the U.S. has been providing Ukraine with money and military aid. Reuters reported shortly before the Hamas attack on Israel that public support for arming Ukraine in the US was waning. However, a Quinnipiac University poll released Tuesday showed that a majority of respondents approved of the way Biden is handling Ukraine.
That poll also found that 85% of voters are concerned that the war in Israel will grow into a larger war. Officials from Iran – a known source for Hamas – have indicated this could be a possible. CBS News polling showed the same result, and that 79% of Americans are concerned about terrorism here at home.
As Biden works to address both wars, Congress remains in a state of paralysis this weekend as the House of Representatives has still failed to agree upon a new Speaker of the House to replace ousted Speaker Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.). House Republicans have already tried and failed to get two candidates into the position as fighting within the party continues.
Trump also has other challenges himself. A judge fined him $5,000 Friday after discovering a site directing to a social media post attacking the judge’s law clerk in violation of a gag order, per POLITICO, and two of his allies filliped against him in the Georgia election interference case. Their plea deals pose a serious legal threat for Trump, CNN said.
