The Powerball jackpot has ballooned to an estimated $975 million for Monday night’s drawing after Saturday’s drawing went winless once again.

Saturday’s drawing marked 38 consecutive games played without a big winner and another step closer to the $1 billion mark, according to Powerball.

While the jackpot may boast the $975 million price tag, the winner will have the choice between annual payments made over 30 years or a lump sum estimated to be at $471.1.

Either way, you shake it, one person could need a financial planner soon if they are lucky on Monday evening.

But what could you do with a $1 billion payday?

As an instant billionaire, you could purchase your very own private plane, with the top model 2020 Gulfstream G600, which starts at around $53 million.

If you’ve wanted to sail the ocean seas, some top-of-the-line model yachts can go for millions, but used models can be much cheaper, according to United Yachts Sales.

If buying property is more your thing, you could buy a house like your favorite basketball players. LeBron James purchased his Beverly Hills home in 2020 for $36.8 million. While it may be pricier thanks to the housing market, you could live like the king for a fraction of your fortune.

The jackpot could also help you with investing, as the money could be used to purchase stock in a sports franchise.

The New York Islanders in the NHL are estimated to be worth around $520 million, according to reports from 2021. If you’re more into soccer, UK’s Everton is also an option at the same price.

Those looking to spend more on something less would be happy to know they could buy 1,000,000 million of the newest iPhone 15 Pro, more than 20,800 new cars at the average price of $48,000, and 2,000,000 PS5 gaming consoles.

Whoever ends up winning the lottery’s grand prize will have some decisions to make. The drawing on Monday night will take place at 10:59 p.m. EST, giving one person a 1 in 292.2 million chance at winning big.
