Woman charged in alleged murder-for-hire plot

Authorities in Virginia have arrested and charged a woman who is allegedly connected to a murder-for-hire plot, according to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.

Gennevieve McGhee, 44, was allegedly captured on audio and video recordings trying to plan a murder for hire, according to the sheriff’s office.

According to the sheriff’s office, McGhee thought she was talking to a confidential source at her residence in Ridgeway, Virginia, but the source was working with law enforcement, recording the whole interaction.

During their meeting, McGhee allegedly discussed detailed instructions on payment arrangements and instructions for carrying out a robbery and murder.

As a result, McGhee has been charged with criminal solicitation of murder and conspiracy to commit a felony. She was taken into custody by deputies from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday.

She is currently being held at the Henry County Adult Detention Center with no bond.
