When you picture a Tyrannosaurus Rex in your mind, what do you see? Thanks to films sch as “Jurassic Park”, probably a big dinosaur with exposed fangs.
However, a group of researchers recently discovered that isn’t really the case.
One of them, Dr. Thomas Cullen of Auburn University in Alabama, joined “Something Offbeat” to dive behind headlines about the discovery, and learn how they got the idea to search for this dinosaur’s long-forgotten lips.
“We wanted to see – can we design an experiment, or look at a few different lines of evidence to actually test that idea?” said Cullen.
While these dinosaurs may look different than we have been imagining them, Cullen’s research doesn’t exactly reveal they were… kissable. At least for humans.
“What we found is that most of the evidence points towards them having lips… and those lips being not at all like ours, but more like something like a lizard,” explained Cullen.
