The Republican challenger for Minnesota’s seventh Congressional District, Michelle Fischbach is currently projected to win and beat long-time Democratic incumbent Collin C. Peterson.
Peterson has held the seat in the seventh district since 1991 and was seeking re-election for his 16th term in the seventh district.
With 1,241 of the 1,329 voting precincts reporting their numbers, Fischbach is projected to serve her first term for the seventh district. She will be the second person to hold the seat in the last 30 years after Peterson’s 30 year run comes to an end.
Currently Fischbach has 181,609 votes for 53.84% of the total votes counted.
