An 18-year-old man is in custody for the shooting death of a young boy in north Minneapolis in early September.

Jeremiah Marquise Grady faces second-degree murder and attempted murder charges in the killing of 12-year-old London Bean.

Investigators say Bean was fighting with another boy, identified as Grady's brother, in the 800 block of Aldrich on September 6.

It's then that the elder Grady reportedly began firing at Bean, hitting him in the chest before fleeing in a vehicle.

Grady eluded police for weeks.

They credit northside pastor Jerry McAfee and other community members for helping to bring about the arrest.
