The state is trying a new system today as it looks to get more people in line for vaccines.
Instead of a first-come, first-serve system that crashed the system last week, sign-ups are now based on lottery selection for those who make a request.
Online sign-ups are under way for the next 24 hours.
Phone sign-ups begin at 9:00 a.m.
Governor Walz says it's the best the state can do right now before we start getting more vaccine.
"Expect a better experience, professionals are getting it out there, we're moving very quickly," Walz said. "Here's the deal: there's not nearly enough vaccine, COVID is running rampant, thank God it's not in the upper midwest in large numbers."
State officials stress that you don't need to try to get in right away.
"There will be plenty of time, so if it's open for 24 hours we're not going to be submitting any of the appointment until the next day," said Deputy Commissioner Anne O'Connor with the state health department.
You chances to get on the vaccine waiting list are just as good tonight as they are this morning.
