Minnesota Governor Tim Walz revealing that Yvette Hoffman, the wife of State Senator John Hoffman is out of the hospital, calling it a bright spot amid the darkness.
Governor Walz spoke in front of a crowd of people in the Rondo neighborhood on Juneteenth.
"This year, were here with pretty heavy hearts as a state , " says Walz, " The senseless murder of Melissa and Mark and the wounding of John and Yvette weighs heavy on everyone's heart."
He says while there are no funeral plans yet, he believes if the family wishes, he thinks a public memorial would be appropriate given the lives she's touched.
"I think those things help us heal," says Walz about a potential public funeral, " The family will so some of the private things they need to do because it's hard."
He also says they might consider having her body lie in state at the capitol.
"You often hear Minnesotan's talk about with Humphrey and Mondale and Wellstone, I don't think we will ever not include the Hortman name in that"
