Two to four, and maybe more

We didn't have much of a white Christmas, but we'll have a white week-after.

The National Weather Service in Chanhassen is predicting snowfall for late Sunday afternoon and into the evening, with the chance of up to four inches to fall in the entire Twin Cities metro area.

"A quick two to four inches of snow, and the rest of the night, it's going to be one of those where the atmosphere can't decide whether it wants to snow, it wants to drizzle, or wants to do nothing," said National Weather Service forecaster Mike Griensinger.

And there could be more later this week.

"It looks like Tuesday afternoon, Tuesday evening, we get another quick-hitter," Griesinger said. "Two to four... if we get lucky, maybe five inches."

That band of snow is expected to be the leading edge of the season's first dose or arctic air, according to Griesinger.

That arctic weather is expected to settle in Wednesday.
