Professor Jane E. Kirtley is the Silha Professor of Media Ethics and Law at the Hubbard School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Minnesota. She joins Jordana today to discuss Catherine Herridge’s once in a generation type of case where she’s being held in civil contempt as an investigative journalist. She has been ordered to reveal her confidential source and is being fined $800 every day until she does.
Professor Kirtley speaks to the importance of this case and parses through the details surrounding the case. Jordana asks Professor Kirtley about what she thinks will happen and how she would advise Catherine going forward.
