A few years ago, Ringo Starr upset a number of fans when he announced he would no longer be signing autographs. While at the time, many jokes were made about the announcement, it appears Ringo’s former Beatles bandmate has now decided to do the same.

Paul McCartney recently revealed he is no longer signing autographs for fans saying “It always struck me as a bit strange.”

After years of being approached by fans asking for autographs, Paul McCartney has had enough.

When asked about the practice during a recent interview, the music icon said, “‘Here, can I write your name down on the back of this till receipt please?’ Why? We both know who I am.” Of course, these days most fans are asking for selfies as well, which McCartney isn’t a big fan of either.

“What you’ve usually got is a ropey photo with a poor backdrop and me looking a bit miserable. Let’s chat, let’s exchange stories,” said McCartney.

According to NME, would much rather have a conversation with fans, believing that is more memorable than a photo or autograph. Hopefully fans listen, or else McCartney will have plenty more signing to do.
