Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - For the first time since the 2020 campaign, the Buffalo Bills are off to a 3-0 start through the first three weeks of the season. This after a dominating 47-10 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday night at Highmark Stadium.
Bills quarterback Josh Allen lit up the Jaguars defense, especially in the opening half of play.
By the end of the night in Orchard Park, Allen completed 23-of-30 pass attempts for 263 yards and four touchdowns to four different receivers.
This game also included a pair of rookies picking up their first touchdowns in the NFL.
Second-round wide receiver Keon Coleman caught his first-career touchdown pass in the second quarter from 24 yards out to blow the game wide open at 20-3.
Then late in the fourth quarter, running back Ray Davis, a fourth-round selection, was able to punch in his first touchdown in the NFL on a three-yard run the cap the scoring at 47-10.
On the other side of the football, the Bills defense made some serious noise with four sacks of Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence, and an interception from safety Damar Hamlin, the first of his NFL career.
From start-to-finish, the Bills had full control of the game on Monday night, which had Allen more than excited following the win.
"We were just guys making plays," said Allen during his postgame comments. "Our offensive line blocked their tails off, and our defense gave us some good field positions. It was a complementary football win tonight."
While Allen understands Super Bowls aren't won through three games of a season, the Bills quarterback has been super impressed with the complete team outing in each of the first three weeks.
"We'll watch this film and put this behind us as quickly as we can," Allen said. "We have a really good team."
