Bills select cornerback Christian Benford with 185th overall pick

Buffalo adds another cornerback with their second sixth-round pick

Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR 550) - The Buffalo Bills go back to the secondary with the 185th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, taking cornerback Christian Benford of Villanova University.

Benford played four years in the FCS with Villanova, appearing in 36 games over his college career. Over that span, Benford accumulated 137 tackles, 14 interceptions and 47 passes defensed.

The 21-year-old was also a CAA Football First-Team Defense selection in both 2021 and 2019. The 6-foot-1 and 200-pound cornerback also won the CAA Football Defensive Rookie of the Year honors.

The Bills will have one more selection in the sixth round coming up with the 209th overall pick.
