Bills will host Patriots on Dec. 6 for 'Monday Night Football' matchup

It will be the first time the Bills hosted a "Monday Night Football" game since the 2018 season

The Buffalo Bills walloped the New England Patriots last season on “Monday Night Football,” and they’ll receive an opportunity to do it again in 2021.

Except this time, the game will happen at Highmark Stadium.

With the official release of the 2021 NFL schedule on Wednesday, the Bills will make their return to "Monday Night Football" in Orchard Park on Dec. 6 against the Patriots.

Last year, the Bills defeated the Patriots, 38-9, on the marquee telecast, in what represented a powerful passing of the torch in the AFC East. Josh Allen was phenomenal in the contest, throwing for 320 yards and four touchdowns. The MVP candidate shredded New England’s porous defense, signifying his newfound divisional dominance.

Meanwhile, wide receiver Stefon Diggs put up one of his best performances in his first season with the Bills, reeling in nine receptions for 145 yards and three of Allen's four touchdown passes. His performance that night earned him AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors in Week 16.

The Bills showed America just how good the team is that evening in Foxboro.

It will also be the first time the Bills hosted a "Monday Night Football" game since the 2018 season when the Patriots smacked around Derek Anderson at quarterback in a 25-6 win over Buffalo.

Coming off an AFC Championship appearance, the Bills aren’t a secret anymore. The NFL’s Vice President of Broadcasting Planning, Mike North told Sal Capaccio recently in his appearance on the "SalSports... and Stuff" podcast he expected the Bills to be showcased plenty this season.

“When you look at your 17 games, you’ve got to think about some of those being, kind of stand out there,” he said. “They’re just a little bit bigger than the other ones.”

The Bills will be featured in prime-time a grand total of four times this season.
