Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR) - The Buffalo Bills are facing the potential loss of one of Josh Allen's top targets after leaving the game with an injury in Thursday night's home opener against the Detroit Lions at Highmark Stadium.
In the later stages of the second quarter, wide receiver D.J. Moore went to the field in an attempt to grab a low pass from quarterback Josh Allen in the end zone. As the pass fell short of the mark and incomplete, Detroit Lions cornerback Rock Ya-Sin was following in coverage, and landed on top of Moore as he went to make the grab.
Moore remained down on the field for a couple of minutes as he favored his shoulder, as the Bills' medical staff tended to him in the end zone. After a moment, Moore was able to walk off the field with some assistance from team staff.
However, instead of going right to the blue medical tent for further evaluation, Moore ended up going to the locker room, and immediately into the X-ray room for more imaging.
The Bills originally listed Moore as questionable to return with a shoulder injury and a stinger, but then ruled him out shortly after the start of the third quarter.

Moore had not recorded a reception prior to the injury, but had one carry for -1 yards.
After the game, Bills head coach Joe Brady did not have an update on Moore's condition. The Bills ended up winning the contest, 41-31.
Last week in Houston, Moore exploded in his first game with the Bills, reeling in five passes for 100 yards, which included a 43-yard touchdown in the second quarter against the Texans.
The Bills acquired Moore this offseason in a trade with the Chicago Bears.
