Josh Allen lands third in NFL's Top-100 voting

The reigning NFL MVP moves up nine slots from his 2024 ranking

Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - The reigning Most Valuable Player in the NFL has garnered a very high level of respect from his peers following his 2024 season.

The NFL completed its reveal of the NFL Top-100 list on Monday, a ranking of the best players currently in the league that's voted on by the players, where Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen ended up slotting in as the No. 3 player in the league.

While the 29-year-old didn't put up his best statistical season in 2024, it was his leadership on and off the field that helped the Bills dominate in the AFC East for a fifth-straight season, and eventually earn a spot in the AFC Championship Game before losing to the Kansas City Chiefs. Especially when many before the season saw the Bills taking a step back as a potential "re-tooling" team.

Allen ended up completing 63.6% of his pass attempts in the regular season for 3,731 yards and 28 touchdowns to just six interceptions. Allen also added 531 yards rushing on 102 carries and 12 touchdowns. His 41 total touchdowns this season put him fourth in the NFL among quarterbacks.

Among the notable highlights from Allen's 2024 campaign included wins over the Kansas City Chiefs and Detroit Lions, a pair of teams that ended the regular season with 15 wins each. It made Buffalo the first team in NFL history to accomplish such a feat over the course of a season.

Allen was also named AFC Offensive Player of the Week four different times this season, and became the first player in NFL history to record, at least, 25 passing touchdowns, 10 rushing touchdowns and one receiving touchdown in a season.

He also became the fourth quarterback in league history to record, at least, 13 wins, 40 offensive touchdowns and fewer than 10 interceptions in a single season.

Allen became the first Bills quarterback to be named the NFL's MVP, and was just the third player from Buffalo to win NFL MVP since the merger, joining running backs Thurman Thomas (1991) and O.J. Simpson (1973).

This is the highest Allen has ever finished on the NFL Top-100 list, with his best previous finish being eighth in 2023. He also jumped nine spots from last year when he was ranked as the 12th-best player by his peers.

The only two players to finish above Allen in the NFL Top-100 this year were Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson at second, and Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley at No. 1.

Meanwhile, a couple other Bills players managed to crack the NFL Top-100 list in 2025.

Bills running back James Cook was able to crack the list for the first time in his career, slotting in as the 89th-best player in the league.

The 2024 season was a career year for Cook, who rushed for a second-consecutive 1,000-yard season and finished tied for the most rushing touchdowns with 16. He also averaged 63.1 yards per-game for the Bills from the backfield.

The only other Bills player to land on the NFL Top-100 this year is starting left tackle Dion Dawkins, who ranks as the 42nd-best player after being named the 96th-best player in 2024.

Dawkins is the leader of an offensive line that helped protect Allen en route to his MVP run in 2024. In total, Allen was sacked just 14 times this past season, the least among starting quarterbacks to suit up for all 17 games.
