OPINION: Howard Picks the Bills: 2025 schedule release

The Bills' regular season schedule is out! How does Howard Simon see Buffalo faring this year?

Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - The 2025 NFL schedule was released on Wednesday, giving Bills fans the opportunity to catch their first glimpse at the path toward Buffalo's sixth-straight AFC East title.

Last year, many fans expected a step back year for the Bills, given the changes to the roster on both sides of the football. However, led by the league's Most Valuable Player in 2024, Josh Allen, the Bills went on to finish 13-4 in the regular season and clinch the division in early December.

Buffalo's run at a Super Bowl was stuffed short, though, at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs once more in the AFC Championship Game at Arrowhead Stadium.

This year, the Bills are expected to dominate the AFC East once more and continue contending for a Super Bowl in 2025.

It all starts for Buffalo in Week 1 of the season when the Bills host the Baltimore Ravens for a Sunday night showdown at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park. That was the scene of last year's AFC Divisional Round, where the Bills held off a late push from the Ravens to punch their ticket to Kansas City in the cold and snow.

The season opener is one of five prime-time games on the schedule for the Bills this upcoming season, with four of the five contests coming before Buffalo's Week 7 bye. The team will be featured one other time on "Sunday Night Football" (Week 5 vs. New England Patriots) this season, while playing twice on "Thursday Night Football" (Week 3 vs. Miami Dolphins and Week 12 at Houston Texans) and once on "Monday Night Football (Week 6 at Atlanta Falcons).

On paper, the Bills have one of the more easier schedules in the NFL this season, where the team will travel the second-fewest miles of any team in the league for their away contests.

Nothing is a given in sports, but this upcoming season of Bills football is one Howard Simon is salivating over, considering the opponents and the layout of the schedule before them.

In the very first edition of "Howard Picks the Bills" in 2025, Howard feels confident in Buffalo not only going 13-4 and capturing another AFC East crown, but being in a serious position to capture the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoff picture and earning a key first-round bye.

Howard's losses primarily come in the middle of the schedule, as he picked the Bills to fall twice in prime-time against Atlanta and Houston, as well as home matchups with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Cincinnati Bengals.
