Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR) - The NHL released its line of "Hometown Remix" jerseys for all 32 teams on Monday, and the Buffalo Sabres will debut theirs on Wednesday when they take on the Ottawa Senators.

Sabres forward Tage Thompson talked about how much he loves the new jerseys, and captain Rasmus Dahlin's also shares the same love for the new looks.

"Beautiful. It's probably the best jersey I've used. They're great. I love them," said Dahlin after Tuesday's practice. "It's a nice touch, I like the blue, I like the goat head. It's a mix of the best."

Dahlin also like the "B" shoulder patch with an electric bolt sabre slicing through it.

"I was surprised they didn't use that as the main logo, but it's a nice jersey. It's a good thing for the fans," Dahlin said.

Sabres winger Zach Benson is one of the younger guys in the room, and also had good thoughts about the jersey.

"They're pretty sweet," he said. "I like them a lot, actually. I'm fired up to get to wear them."

Benson thinks the players will be excited to pull them over there heads come Wednesday night.

"It's almost like waking up on Christmas Day and opening up your presents. You get to wear something new that brings excitement to the fans, excitement to us. Everyone is excited to see those jerseys," Benson said.

The Sabres are on the verge of getting several players back from injury in the coming days.

Benson missed practice on Monday, but Ruff declared him available for Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Sabres goalie Alex Lyon was back again in practice Tuesday.

"He's getting close to being ready, for sure." said Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff after practice. "I'll wait to manage that until we get there. I think it's days."

Colten Ellis was great for the Sabres in San Jose, shutting out the Sharks, 2-0. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen was equally as good on Saturday with a 3-2 win in Los Angeles against the Kings.

Ruff says he'll continue to utilize both goalies moving forward.

"When you look at the schedule, I think we're six games in 11 days, and we're going to need both guys, for sure," he said.

Sabres defenseman Conor Timmins thought he had a setback in his rehab on Monday, but Ruff says it turned out to be nothing.

"It was a little bit of a false alarm," he explained. "He felt better this morning. He wasn't good when he left yesterday, but when we got back this morning, he felt good. Participated in practice, so all good."

Ruff believes Timmins will be available for the Sabres "fairly soon," but wasn't ready to give an exact timeframe.

Usually when a team comes home from a West coast swing, their first game back is a disaster. In Wednesday's case, the Ottawa Senators were out there at the same time, playing the same teams the Sabres were.

The Sabres are scheduled to have a morning skate Wednesday before the 7:30 p.m. puck drop in Buffalo.
