Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - The 2025 regular season is right around the corner for the Buffalo Bills, as they get ready to kick off the year with a playoff rematch against the Baltimore Ravens this Sunday night at Highmark Stadium.
It was a bit of an up-and-down preseason for the Bills, despite the team resting a number of starters on both sides of the football in all three games.
Where the Bills faced the biggest challenges in their preparations for the upcoming season was on the injury front with a number of players dealing with ailments. Players like rookie cornerback Max Hairston will miss, at least, the first four games after suffering a knee injury in the early goings of training camp, while veteran cornerback Tre'Davious White is also dealing with a leg injury that has left his start to the season in question.
The latest injury to impact the team from a depth perspective is to second-year defensive tackle DeWayne Carter, who has torn his Achilles and is slated to miss the entire 2025 season.
With the preseason now in the rearview mirror, it's on to games that count on the schedule. That also means it is time for the weekly return of the tradition unlike any other... Howard Simon picking the Bills!
To open the 2025 season, Howard has the Bills getting off to a hot start, not only winning Sunday night's contest with the Ravens, but also the next four games on the schedule to start the season 5-0.
In the NFL, though, all good things must come to an end, as Howard has the Bills suffering their first loss of the season on the road against the Atlanta Falcons before the bye week on "Monday Night Football".
After a week to recoup from the loss, the Bills get back on track with three-straight wins, including a Week 9 win over the Kansas City Chiefs to put the Bills at 8-1 through the first 10 weeks of the year.
After hitting a bump in the road with two-straight losses to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Houston Texans, Howard has the Bills finishing the season with wins in four of the last six games, resulting in a 12-5 record.
That record is likely to put the Bills in the driver's seat to win the AFC East for a sixth-straight season, and possibly set Buffalo up for a run at the 1-seed in the AFC for the playoffs in January.
