The Buffalo Bills have a big special teams hole to fill at both kick and punt returner. That vacancy has been left by Andre Roberts, who signed with the Houston Texans this offseason.
To potentially add to the competition at returner, the Bills are bringing in former Minnesota Vikings and Washington Football Team wide receiver Jeff Badet for a workout, according to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.
Since going undrafted in 2018, Badet finally appeared in the NFL, playing three games for Washington. In those three games, he saw the field 21 times on offense and zero times on special teams.
In between going undrafted and Washington last season, Badet played four preseason games for the Vikings, and five games for the Dallas Renegades in the XFL.
In college, Badet played his first three seasons at the University of Kentucky, before transferring to Oklahoma for his senior year. Overall, Badet compiled 108 receptions for 1,785 yards and 10 touchdowns in 46 games. In Badet's junior and senior seasons, he returned 30 kick returns for 657 yards, and average of 21.9 yards.
Badet's only path to making a loaded Bills receiving corp would be via the return game.
Even that task is daunting, with Isaiah McKenzie, Brandon Powell, and sixth round rookie Marquez Stevenson all likely outranking him going into camp, if the Bills sign Badet in the first place.
