Star Lotulelei still out as Bills prepare for Steelers

The veteran defensive tackle was the only player missing from Tuesday's practice

The 2021 regular season is here.

As the Buffalo Bills get set to host the Pittsburgh Steelers in the season opener for both team on Sunday in Orchard Park, the team hit the practice field on Tuesday.

The only player not in attendance for the early media-viewing portion of the session was defensive tackle Star Lotulelei, who has been dealing with a calf injury. Prior to practice, head coach Sean McDermott said Lotulelei would either not practice or do so on a limited basis.

Other than the quarterbacks and specialists, who are always in red non-contact jerseys, the only player on defense who wore one was cornerback Taron Johnson.

The official injury report for both teams won't be made available until after Wednesday's practice.

Speaking of jersey colors, the Bills offense was wearing white jerseys as they worked under the blue skies and near 80-degree temperatures just outside the ADPRO Sports Training Center. That means the team will be wearing white jerseys on Sunday against Steelers, putting the Steelers in their black tops.
