Stefon Diggs wants Bills to wear red helmet throwbacks from Super Bowl days

The Buffalo Bills are planning to be Super Bowl contenders for years to come, so it only makes sense for them to don helmets from their Super Bowl era, right?

At least that’s what Stefon Diggs thinks.

Starting next season, the NFL will allow teams to wear alternate helmets, and match with an array of uniform choices: alternate, classic and/or color rush. And the star wideout has already put in his request.

He wants to wear red and blue.

Diggs shared a photoshopped image of himself in the throwback look on Twitter, and tagged the Bills for good measure.

The Bills debuted their red helmets in 1984, and featured different variations of the helmet until 2010, when the team switched back to wearing white helmets.

Given that Diggs led the NFL in receptions and receiving yards last season, his uniform request could go a long way. Long-snapper Reid Ferguson and offensive lineman Jon Feliciano are also campaigning for the red helmets, with the latter saying he will be “hot” next season if the combination isn’t chosen.

The next step is seeing what QB1 thinks of this. Josh Allen is certainly playing like Jim Kelly. Why not look him as well?
